Wests Scarborough Partnership

It’s been another successful rugby season for the West Scarborough Rugby Union club. Andvare is proud to be the Principal Partner for the club and would like to congratulate the whole club for their efforts in expanding rugby in WA at the grassroots level as well as representing our brand throughout the Premiership season. As the first year of the Juniors and Seniors coming together as one Club draws to a close, we can look back on the Club’s achievements with pride!

Congratulations to our 3rd Grade lads who took out the flag in a hard fought contest, winning 8-7 against a strong Coastal Cavaliers team.

A special mention to the Colts who put in a spirited showing against a resilient Perth Bayswater who went down despite a late comeback, going down 16-20 at the death.

It may not have been the desired result for the Premier Grade side, losing in a hard-fought contest in the Semi-Finals against the eventual FMG Premiership Division winning team, Cottesloe.

A proud season performance also saw the Reserve Grade side finish an honourable 4th, with an intriguing finals series set up robbing them of the chance to play for higher honours.

In the Juniors, there were similar successes with the U17’s making it through to the finals but going down to a rampant Kalamunda 22-7.

The U13’s had another respectable year, playing hard and finishing a creditable 7th to be middle of the final field.

After a near miss finishing runners up in 2018, the U12’s had a season fraught with injury and each week struggled to put numbers together on the pitch.  In the end, the number of injuries proved too great and the team missed the finals series, finishing a very respectable 5th in the top division.

After starting the season in great form, the U11’s suffered a spate of defeats in mid season, but turned this around in the final rounds to finish strongly.

Congratulations goes to the entire U10’s group in fielding two teams in the top division.  Both teams played with great character during the season, with the Golds going through to the Grand Final on the 14th September.  Good luck boys!  The Maroons finished a very creditable 5th with a final showdown at home between the two teams proving to be the final nail to a double Top 4 finish.  Well done to all involved!

Finally, our Baby Boars (U6’s to U9’s) continue to grow in number, proving that Rugby is a growing force at grassroots in WA. The future of the code and the Club is strong and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership.
